Colorado Engagement Photos: Kelsey + Bart

May 3, 2024

April is a gamble on weather but it was a beautiful day for Kelsey and Bart’s Colorado engagement photos. Even though it was a little chilly, we had a blast getting to know each other. Like when Kelsey and I found out that we both grew up in middle Missouri. I have family in the small farming community where she lived. Which is saying something because our towns were TINY. Below I’ll tell you more about them and give a few tips on what to expect for an engagement session this time of year.

Colorado is such a mixed bag of weather so layers are essential. Kelsey brought a jacket for while we walked and this is ideal for warming up between poses. We had snow days before their session, and a week after! You just never know what you’re going to get.

Garden of the Gods park is one of the most incredible locations to have classic Colorado engagement photos. With epic rock formations, easy access, and no extra fee for professional photography it is one of my favorites places. Follow my other post to see what trails and locations I typically use for these types of shoots here. One of the biggest recommendations I give is to bring an extra pair of walking shoes. The paths are sandy and sometimes we need to climb a little, so having stable footwear is a must! And don’t forget sunscreen, water, and chapstick for the arid, high elevation climate. You’re going to have such a great time at this park!

Kelsey and Bart are getting married at Younger Ranch in Colorado Springs this summer. They offer authentic, down-to-earth experiences and portrait sessions with their Texas longhorns.

WORK WITH ME!
I’d love to hear the long version of your love story.
