February 13, 2025

Love happens at just the right time, even when you least expect it. Meet Kelsey and Bart, who met while working in the same hospital and never stopped creating adventure. Their shared passion for exploring new places led them to plan a picturesque, rustic ceremony in the heart of Colorado. In this article, I’ll delve into the charming details of their special day, from a horse-drawn carriage to dove release to the moments they won’t soon forget. A Bit of Their Love Story

Bart was packed up and ready to move to Arizona when he felt the pull to ask Kelsey on a date. They’d connected in their time together at work. But after that first outing he was convinced he was right where he needed to be, and so he never left.
Their conversations were immediately natural and comfortable, as if they’d known each other for years. Soon, they were planning trips to national parks, moving across country together, and seeing a future they’d only dreamed of having.

Charming Details: A Horse-Drawn Carriage and Dove Release

Growing up for part of her childhood in a small farming community in Missouri, Kelsey is no stranger to ranch life. Bart spent summers in the same area. So when they stumbled upon Younger Ranch in Colorado Springs, it was a perfect fit. Shades of purple, light charcoal, and her baby blue cowgirl boots accented in elegance. The venue has a bridal suite in rustic wood grain with chic, white mirrors and fixtures. The groomsman got ready in a real tipi.
Kelsey and Bart wanted unique elements to their ceremony and loved the idea of a horse-drawn carriage. She was brought directly from the bridal suite to the aisle in timeless fashion. Once they exchanged vows, they had Wings Over Colorado release a beautiful flock of doves as a finale to the ceremony.
To add a personal touch to their reception, each table included pieces of their travels. They marked the locations and parks where their relationship truly developed. On the dance floor they brought in custom, lighted lettering of their names.

Sunset Photos on The Ranch

When everything settles and night is easing over the peaks, it’s in these incredible moments when my couples get a breather. They get tender moments with the sun setting as husband and wife and it’s comfortable, all the day’s activity in a lull for those 30 minutes.
I took Kelsey and Bart a little early as mountain sunsets come quickly. They left the party and we got some slow, intimate portraits that I absolutely loved.
They ended their night having a blast with their friends and family.
